Hey there! I’m Jonathan, and I really enjoy writing.
Welcome to Money Meets Life, where I share helpful info and insights about personal growth.
I started this blog in late 2023 because I felt something was missing in my life. Even though I’ve had many experiences, I haven’t written much about them. Let’s dive into this journey of life and self-improvement together!
Putting together this site has been a challenge but also a labour of love. After a busy week of work as a company director, I spend my spare time compiling information about issues that matter and writing content. Over time, I hope that Money Meets Life grows into more than just a blog—my ambition is to build a community of people who are determined to learn and grow.
If that’s you, then stick around!
Childhood
My parents gave me so much in life. I always consider myself privileged. I grew up in the leafy suburbs of East London, in a fairly idyllic place called Wanstead.
Wanstead was a wonderful place to be a child—just a stone’s throw from the city, yet surrounded by ancient woodland. Epping Forest has trees nearly a thousand years old; walking there really connects you to history.
After school, I’d often detour through the woods even though it took longer. It was always a decidedly pleasanter walk.
My parents led a happy, though not extravagant life. Looking back, my childhood was simple and content—not remarkable, perhaps, but definitely joyful.
Early Dreams
When I was little, I dreamed of becoming a stuntman—probably because I was obsessed with traditional Hong Kong action cinema.
By age 8 or 9, though, I’d shifted my ambitions toward editing a broadsheet newspaper—likely influenced by watching my dad wrestle with The Times and The Telegraph.
I also connected with writing early on. My dad would sometimes bring me to his office, where I’d sit at a computer and word-process short stories and poems. Reading was another passion—I often got in trouble for sneaking books when I should have been doing something else.
School Days
I attended my local state primary, Aldersbrook, and enjoyed it, though I soon realised I wasn’t being challenged enough.
With my parents’ support, I secured a place at Forest School, a selective private school. There I flourished academically and in sports, and made some of my closest friends—though I often struggled to choose just one path when everything came easily.

Unidays
I “ended up” studying Philosophy and Classical Civilisation & Literature at Birmingham University—joint honours suited my indecisive self perfectly.
University life required self-direction, which played to my strengths. I graduated with a 1st in Classics and a 2:1 in Philosophy overall. During this time I also got fascinated by finance: I followed the 2008 crisis closely, began reading about its impacts, and even started investing small amounts.
Finding Myself
Through volunteering and work experience back home, I explored what I truly enjoyed. I wrote entrance exams for a friend’s mum, which felt like a creative puzzle, and earned a TrinityCert TESOL—dreaming of teaching abroad.
My girlfriend and I landed a year-long opportunity in Korea. We loved it, and my interest in finance, economics, and business continued to grow.
Student, Tutor, Content Writer
When I returned, I used my Korea savings (plus a scholarship) to fund a Master’s in Global Political Economy at City University London. To stay busy, I joined RTG Tuition—where I discovered a knack for teaching and for crafting educational content. I became a tutor, then a content writer for what’s now Redbridge Publishing.
Building My Stake
As I deepened my role at RTG, I saw its potential. I became a company director, took equity, and eventually invested personally to help it grow. Today, our content-driven media assets are expanding quickly.
The Story Goes On
So that’s my story so far. The empire I envision will take years to build, but I’m getting closer every day.
